On-Page SEO

Rise Local specializes in local SEO for small to medium-sized businesses. There are many parts to search engine optimization, and all of them need special attention to increase your brand’s exposure. There are three main sections: off-page, technical, and on-page SEO. Our professional copywriters and web developers use every resource available to optimize the content we create for your business. Here’s what you need to know about on-page SEO.

What is On-Page SEO?

This type of practice optimizes web pages with specific keywords in order to improve exposure and traffic. It involves focusing on page-specific elements, such as headings, title tags, content, and internal links. Our professional marketers optimize every web page that is created, whether it’s a location, service, landing page, or a blog post.

The Difference Between On-Page and Technical SEO

Although both strategies aim to increase your brand’s visibility, they address different aspects. Technical SEO focuses on page and site speed, duplicate content, site structure, indexing, and schema. Working on the technical aspects of a website to increase rankings works hand in hand with on-page optimization. Technical SEO may not be visible upfront, but it’s doing a lot of the behind the scenes work.

On-Page SEO Checklist

Here are some of the features that our professional marketing team focuses on and enhances:

Keyword in URL

Keywords are one of the most important aspects of SEO. To increase rankings, we use keywords in the pages’ URLs.

Short URLs

Short URLs rank best in Google. Short ones will help avoid making corrections to them afterwards (301 redirects). Explanatory keywords are the most effective in URLs, and we avoid meaningless words such as “page1.”

Title Tags

We include keywords in the title tags. However, where they are placed is even more important. The keywords should be placed right at the beginning of the title whenever it’s possible.

Keyword at the Beginning of Content

In order to utilize on-page SEO effectively, the keyword(s) should appear in the first 150 words of the content. Google puts more weight on these first words when ranking, so it’s important to have the keyword upfront.

Optimize Images

An image says a million words. Sadly, Google can’t translate them. Picking an effective and authentic image is as important as labeling it. The filename and alt tag should briefly describe what the image is. If we don’t utilize this, Google won’t be able to “see” the image we use. As a bonus point, the image should represent the keyword, and it should be listed in the alt description. But that’s not always possible. If the keyword doesn’t make sense for the image, we don’t try to force it because it can negatively affect the page’s ranking.
